The UriSed is a professional urine sediment analyzer, which is able to detect urine particles in urine sediment with high accuracy. This instrument performs sample preparation, takes several pictures of each sample through its built-in microscope and evaluates them using the UriSed Evaluation Module which is a high quality image processing software. This is a revolutionary new method for sedimentation, identification and classification of urine particles.
The UriSed system consists of four parts:
- The Measuring Unit includes centrifuge, microscope, and other mechanical parts. This unit is responsible for performing sample preparation and taking the whole viewfield microscopic images. The measurement technique of the instrument is a world novelty: it is the automatic centrifugation and microscopic measurement of native urine samples in special disposable cuvettes. This patented technology is actually the automation of the well-known traditional manual urine microscopy.
- The second part consists of wash and waste containers. For the proper cleaning of the instrument simple distilled water is enough, there is no need for special detergents.
- The operating PC is responsible for the control of the main unit and evaluating the images by a sophisticated image processing software.
- The last part consists of different peripherals like monitor, keyboard, mouse and optional printer.
The results of the measurements together with all the images areĀ stored in the memory of UriSed, which is large enough to store 5000 records. Stored results can be studied on the monitor of the UriSed PC, sent to the Laboratory Information System or can be printed out by external printer.
